Vintage Buescher Aristocrat Oboe, B5838, w/hard case, stand, recent repads
A rare Buescher Oboe (serial # B 5838), this Aristocrat student model is in excellent vintage playable condition. Includes original hard case and a vintage metal oboe stand. Seven pads and six key corks have been recently (January, 2021) replaced.
Selmer acquired Buescher in 1963 and discontinued the brand in 1983. Our research would indicate that while Buescher Aristocrat oboes were not widely distributed, this model may date from the late 1960’s-early 1970’s. It has been remarkably maintained, all keys and pads are in working order with no flaws or cracks in the body.
Sold in “As Is” condition.
For the student or collector, this is a unique example of Selmer-Buescher’s craftsmanship for a difficult instrument to manufacture, market and play.
Case measures 13″x8.24″x4.5″ and weighs, with the instrument, 6.5 lbs.
Stand weighs approximately 1 lb.
