eggs have raised letters of “Porto Rica, Cuba & Philippines”
these are the 3 territories Spain ceded to the United States after the Spanish American War of 1898
made by E. C. Flaccus Condiment Co. Wheeling, W.V. for their mustard line
To commemorate the U.S. victory in the war
raised letters on both sides of the base “The American Hen”
measures about 4″ by 2″ at the base , 6 1/2″ by 3 1/2″ across the top & about 4″ high
to top of the Eagle
marked on base “Pat. Applied For”
Very good aged condition. A few small chips top rim of base & bottom rim of lid.
